MANCHESTER, N.H. —

One person is dead after a car crashed into a utility pole in Pelham, police said.

Officials said they responded to Keyes Hill Road just before 4:30 p.m. Monday for a report of a crash.

Keyes Hill Road reopened around 6:30 Tuesday morning after crews made repairs.

At the scene, authorities found a heavily damaged vehicle that had struck and severed a utility pole.

Police said the driver, an 81-year-old Hudson man, was extricated from the vehicle and taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

His name has not been released. The crash remains under investigation.
