The WNBA has quickly become one of the most popular sports leagues in the United States, thanks in no small part to the A-list presence of superstar point guard Caitlin Clark. Clark has been a force since entering the league, helping to bring in record attendance and television viewership numbers.

Unfortunately, Clark was forced to miss most of her second season in the league due to nagging lower-body injuries, most notably a groin issue that kept her out of the entire second half of the season, including Indiana’s run to the league semifinals.

As Clark focuses on her return to the game she loves, she’s taken to social media to share some devastating off-the-court news.

“we are gonna miss you puppy 💛 gave us so many good memories 💛,” the Fever star wrote about the passing of her dog. “not much changed in 9 years 💛💛”

Caitlin shared on Instagram that her dog Bella passed away. One of her Kobe PEs last season featured Bella, with a nod to her golden coat and pink tongue.

She scored a season-high 32 in them, including the iconic back to back to back threes vs the Liberty. RIP Bella ❤️‍🩹🐾🥺 pic.twitter.com/ZMJbsDADWm

Fans reacted to the tragic loss of Clark’s pet on social media.

“Caitlin, I am so sorry for your loss. You had Bella through the most important parts of your life. I know the pain of losing your best friend; the pain that makes your heart feel like it’s going to burst. You can message me if you want to talk what you feel because I understand,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“So sorry to hear about your beautiful Bella.I am a doggie lover also,” someone else wrote.

“My condolences over the loss of your loved one,” another fan added.

Hopefully, Bella will live on in the Clark family’s heart.
