Empire Access has partnered with Yates County to apply for federal funding to expand high-speed fiber internet access, according to the Finger Lakes Times. The joint effort targets USDA ReConnect program grants to improve broadband service, especially in underserved areas.
The initiative promises ultra-fast, reliable connectivity to support local businesses, remote work, education, and daily life. Leaders say the upgrade is key to future economic development and digital access across the county.
Empire Access is also hosting a booth at the Yates County Fair through July 12 to answer questions and help residents sign up for service.
