Fire burned through Peanut World on the Atlantic City Boardwalk on Friday.

More than 40 firefighters and EMS responded to the two-alarm blaze that was reported around 4 p.m. at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on the Boardwalk.

Smoke damaged three adjacent buildings.

The businesses all were closed and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters arrived quickly and made “an aggressive interior attack on the building using forcible entry to the businesses,” Fire Chief Scott Evans said.

Engine 1 and Ladder 1 were the first to arrive at the scene commanded by Acting Deputy Chief Jeffrey Bird. In all, seven companies were on scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
