NC State is headed to a bowl game for the sixth consecutive season.

The Wolfpack (7-5) will play Memphis (8-4) from the American conference in the Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa, Florida on Dec. 19. The game, which will be played at Raymond James Stadium, home of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will kick off at 2:30 p.m. and be broadcast on ESPN.

“Our staff and team are very excited about playing in a great bowl in the beautiful city of Tampa,” NC State head coach Dave Doeren said. “We appreciate the opportunity and are looking forward to a great game.”

It will be the first meeting between NC State and Memphis in football.

It is the 11th bowl appearance in 13 seasons for the program under Doeren, who will return for a 14th season in Raleigh.

The coach, who turned 54 this week, has posted a 94-70 record with the Wolfpack. He became the program’s all-time winningest coach with a 2023 victory over Miami. Under his watch, the Wolfpack have reached nine wins four times.

NC State won its final two games of the season against Florida State and North Carolina to earn bowl eligibility. The Wolfpack have the ACC’s top rusher (Hollywood Smothers) and the league’s leading tackler (Caden Fordham).
