This is the first reported homicide in New York City in nearly two weeks.
SOUNDVIEW, Bronx (WABC) — The NYPD is investigating the city’s first apparent homicide in nearly two weeks. The last homicide police investigated happened on November 24.
On Sunday night, a man was killed after being shot inside the stairwell of the Sotomayor Houses in the Soundview section of the Bronx.
38-year-old Gregory Stewart was found with a gunshot wound to the head and was taken by EMS to NYC Health+Hospitals/Jacobi where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities took a person of interest into custody and are working to determine a motive.
The investigation remains ongoing.
