Kyle Busch doesn’t really hold back when he has something to say, and he proved that again during a recent chat on ‘The Pat McAfee Show.’ When asked if he would be able to drive an F1 car, Busch gave a blunt four-word response.

The two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion’s response reignited the debate between the two racing worlds.

Kyle Busch Gets Honest About F1 on McAfee’s Show

Busch currently drives for Richard Childress Racing and is one of the most experienced drivers in the NASCAR garage. He’s also not afraid to compare the worlds of NASCAR and F1, either, and has done it quite a few times now.

While many believe Formula 1 is the pinnacle of motorsports racing, Busch has a different take. When asked if he would be able to drive an F1 car, his immediate response was, “Anybody could do it. It’s just a matter of doing it fast.”

According to him, any motorsport driver would be able to drive an F1 car without a challenge. That is a really brave take from ‘Rowdy.’ He also spoke about how he has always been in NASCAR and has also driven a few sports car races.

He admitted, “I’ve been in the NASCAR Cup Series forever. The Xfinity Series, I’ve raced, the truck series, I’ve raced. So, I’ve done all three of those. I’ve done a couple sports car races just here or there.”

He also mentioned that he has never driven an IndyCar but did not comment further on it. Later, he spoke about how pushing the car to its limits was important to being successful on track. Busch mentioned that he was successful because he pushed the car beyond its limits while also keeping it under control.

“Like when you’re a race car driver and you’re going out there like you want to push the car to its absolute limits. And for me, what always sort of made me as successful was I could push it to that 100.5% and yet keep it under control, where everybody else sort of lies within that 97 to 98% range,” he added.

While F1 continues to grow as a global spectacle full of celebrities and massive sponsors, Busch prefers the much quieter vibe of NASCAR. He had also criticized F1’s culture a few days back, calling it a “princess vibe.” According to him, NASCAR’s culture is more authentic compared to F1.

Busch is yet to win a race this season. He has been winless since 2023 and is desperately looking to end this dreadful streak. With just a few races left in the regular season, Busch is hoping to find his groove soon and win a race.
