It was a wild lead up to Signing Day for Virginia Tech as coach James Franklin, armed with no known assistant coaches and a small group of recruiting personal, created recruiting excitement not previously seen in Blacksburg, Virginia.
The Hokies’ class, basically non-existent, was ranked No. 119 when he was hired and is now No. 24 after other programs signed prospects beyond Wednesday’s start of the early signing period. The class includes 11 former Penn State commits, four other flips, and keeping several commits in the fold while other programs tried to move in on them.
