How Manchester United’s players rated in the away fixture with Wolves.
Manchester United got back to winning ways with a 4-1 win against Wolves, after taking the lead in the first half.
Ruben Amorim’s side were gifted an opening goal in the 24th minute when Bruno Fernandes ensured that his shot beat Sam Johnstone.
Wolves scored their first goal since October on the brink of half-time through Jean-Ricner Bellegarde to make sure the scoreline was level at the break.
Thankfully, it didn’t take United long to respond in the second half as Bryan Mbeumo continued his impressive record against Wolves.
In the 62nd minute, United scored a delightful goal to double their lead over the hosts, when Mason Mount volleyed home inside the box.
The win was sealed when Fernandes scored his second goal of the night from the penalty spot.

Assured presence at the back, but couldn’t do much for the goal.

Steady display against a Wolves side that hardly threatened him.

Luke Shaw – 6
Strongest presence at the back tonight. It helps when you have a mainstay defender like Luke Shaw available on nights like these because the defence has changed a lot in recent weeks.

Guilty of losing his man for the goal, but got United forward on multiple occasions down the right flank. Often ran into trouble.
Casemiro – 5
Trapped his counterpart Andre to win back possession for Fernandes’ opener in the 24th minute. Other than that, Casemiro did his job in the middle of the pitch.
Bruno Fernandes – 8
Fernandes opened the scoring with a hilarious goal, and his corner kicks threatened Johnstone without finding any United players. The captain also set up Mount with an exquisite chipped pass from outside the box. The Portuguese Magnifico completed a brace from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute.
Diogo Dalot – 6
Denied a second goal in two games in the seventh minute when he failed to tuck home a shot from a one-on-one opportunity. Diogo Dalot made amends for that missed chance when he set up Mbeumo for a tap-in.
Bryan Mbeumo – 5
Struggled to offer any real quality in the final third, and his first touch let him down on multiple occasions, but that didn’t matter when he made it 2-1 in the early stages of the second half. It was his fourth goal against Wolves.
Mason Mount – 8
Pressed Wolves throughout the game and scored a deserved goal after the hour mark with a smooth finish. Looked like he was enjoying himself in the second half.
Matheus Cunha – 5
Returning to Molineux for the first time, Matheus Cunha registered his first assist for United after squaring the ball to Fernandes. He also recorded more shots than any other player on the pitch, which will add to the disappointment of not scoring against his former club.
SubsLisandro Martinez – 5
More minutes under the belt for Lisandro Martinez. It’s another positive step towards getting back into the line-up under Amorim.
Leny Yoro – 5
Wolves didn’t threaten United’s defence in the second half, which made it a night of few battles for Leny Yoro and other defenders.
Kobbie Mainoo – 5
The travelling United fans were happy to see him come off the bench towards the end, but the Red Devils were in total control from that point. Although it was a short cameo, Kobbie Mainoo won’t feel he did anything to bring him closer to the line-up.
Patrick Dorgu – 5
Wasted no time getting up to wing after coming on and gave United a bit of extra intensity late on.
Joshua Zirkzee – 5
Will be happy to get more minutes, but didn’t get enough time on the pitch to have a real impact. Held the ball up well when asked of him.
