A small mudslide blocks off traffic in Astoria

Torrential rains continue to hammer North Coast

A little after 4:30 p.m. on Monday, a mudslide was reported on the corner of Fifth and Commercial Streets in Astoria.

The Astoria Police Department and Public Works Department responded to the scene and blocked off the roadway.

Heavy rains, with the National Weather Service predicting up to 7 inches, are expected to batter the area until Thursday.
