Speaking after the United match on Monday, Mount admitted that United players went into half-time “frustrated and disappointed” after conceding to Wolves.

“It was an important win for us,” he told Sky Sports.

“Obviously, first half, we let them back in it before half-time and we go into the changing room frustrated and disappointed with the end to the first half.”

Mount revealed that Amorim spoke directly with the players in the United dressing room and the Red Devils had to step up their performance for the second half.

“The manager had a few things to say and we come out there and it was down to us to attack with purpose and finish our chances we were creating,” he continued.

“We’re happy with the second half, parts of the first half as well. Overall, very happy with that.”

“Attacking with freedom,” Mount said.

“I thought some of the combinations going forward were crisp, were sharp and that’s what we can do.

“We know we can do that. It’s about us creating as many chances as we can as forward players and trying to get on the scoresheet.

“I thought going forward we were solid, and as a defence it’s about defending as a team and not letting them have any chances to get back into the game.”

United will now return to Premier League action at Old Trafford next Monday and the Red Devils will host Bournemouth for an 8pm kick-off time in the UK.
