Holiday shopping took a wild turn after Santa appeared to lose one of his reindeer who went running through a store at the Jersey Shore.

Shoppers scrambled to get out of its way but one woman didn’t think twice about going after the frightened deer.

“I started following it through the store,” Krista Dey explained. “I was worried about everyone else’s safety more than mine.”

The wild encounter began when the deer crashed into Dey’s cart while she and her best friend were shopping inside a Marshalls store in Brick Township, New Jersey.

“She, like, just immediately sprung into action. I don’t even think she thought about what was going on,” Dey’s best friend Kaitlyn Keim said. “She saved the day.”

Dey managed to corner the deer, wrangle it and then safely guided it out through the store’s front door.

The two women said that the deer ran off with what looked like some minor cuts on its legs but no people were hurt during this incident.

It’s not clear exactly how the deer got into the store, but it appears it was hoping to save a few bucks this holiday season.
