CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A 29-year-old from North Charleston is facing charges after he allegedly forcibly entered a woman’s home and assaulted her on Wednesday.
Walter Clayton Pate III is accused of first-degree burglary, first-degree assault and battery, and kidnapping, according to the Charleston Police Department.

On Dec. 10, Pate was allegedly found inside a woman’s residence, only wearing his underwear. When he was confronted, he allegedly physically assaulted her.
When the victim fought, Pate fled the area, police said.
Charleston police worked alongside the U.S. Marshals Task Force to locate and arrest Pate on Wednesday evening.
Despite the arrest, the investigation remains active and ongoing, police said.
