Cesc Fabregas believes that Arsenal’s squad depth is going to help them win either the Premier League or Champions League this season.
The former Arsenal midfielder has been discussing the Gunners’ chances of winning a major trophy this season, and he is confident about their chances of doing so.
Over the summer, Andrea Berta worked hard to build a squad which could finally get over the line and in doing so, he added both quality and depth.

Now, Fabregas thinks Arsenal have never quite had a squad like the current one, given how many options they have to come in and out of the team.
Cesc Fabregas hails Arsenal’s improved squad depth
Cesc Fabregas is backing Arsenal to win the Premier League or Champions League this season, owing to their improved squad depth.
The Arsenal legend cannot believe that when Martin Odegaard is missing, Eberechi Eze can come in, and when Bukayo Saka needs resting, in comes Noni Madueke.
Previously, Mikel Arteta’s team have struggled to cope with injuries, but that is no longer the case and could be the decisive factor in ending their wait for silverware.
Fabregas told CBS Sports: “I think they will. Will they do it? Of course, again, it is a long season. The Premier League is so competitive. In the Champions League, there are some top teams, but they’ve been building.
“They’ve been strengthening the team, creating a really strong squad because it’s not just a strong team now.
“This is a really strong squad where you lose Odegaard, and you have Eze, you lose Saka, you have Madueke.
Imagine it’s the Champions League final tomorrow and you could only start one player out of Eberechi Eze and Martin Odegaard. Who are you picking and why?

“You know it’s something that before, maybe Arsenal were lacking in a way. When there were injuries, so in my view, after six years of building and creating this strong squad, I do think this is the year
“I watch basically all the games, and they are very strong. They’re very strong. I don’t see them dropping a lot of points this year.”
Gary Lineker also thinks Arsenal will win the Premier League, and the size of Arteta’s squad is the advantage which they have over Man City.
Cesc Fabregas wanted to re-sign for Arsenal
Fabregas has admitted that he thought he would re-sign for Arsenal after leaving FC Barcelona; however, Arsenal never took up their option to sign him.
Recalling his move to Chelsea, he revealed: “I spoke to the president of Barcelona and, even though they said, ‘No, no, you have to stay here, there’s a new coach coming in and let’s see how it goes in preseason’, I had already made up my mind, it was clear that I needed to go somewhere else, another challenge.
“I met uh Jose Mourinho, Man City and Chelsea. It’s true that after meeting with both proposals and having left the meeting with Jose, I looked at my agent and I said: ‘That’s it, that’s where I want to go’.
“Because Arsenal didn’t take the clause at the beginning when I was going to leave. I thought I was going back to Arsenal.
“That was my thought and what I expected at that moment. But when I spoke to Jose, and I saw the refusal, not the refusal, they just didn’t come back. They had a week.
“Arsenal had a week to respond, you know, to take the option or not. They never came back, they stayed quiet.”
