DETROIT — The Detroit Tigers traded right-handed reliever Chase Lee to the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night.

The move clears a 40-man roster spot for the addition of veteran right-hander Kyle Finnegan, whose signing should be made official in the coming days.

The Tigers will receive 24-year-old left-hander Johan Simon from the Blue Jays.

Lee made his MLB debut on April 22, 2025, and had an excellent start to his career, going 4-0 with a 2.05 ERA over his first 25 games (30 2/3 innings).

But he was battered for four runs on July 9 against Tampa and struggled to get back on track.

This story will be updated.
