A rap legend has postponed tonight’s concert in Syracuse.

Slick Rick was scheduled to perform at the Westcott Theater on Friday, Dec. 12. However, hours before the show was set to begin, the venue announced that the show was being “postponed due to unforeseen travel circumstances.”

Additional details were not disclosed, but a winter storm affected travel in Upstate New York Thursday and Friday, with additional snow expected to fall in some areas tonight, Saturday and Sunday. Slick Rick performed at The Reks in Vermont on Thursday, according to social media posts.

He is now scheduled to perform at the Westcott Theater on Jan. 10, 2026. Tickets purchased for the original date will be honored for the rescheduled date.

“We apologize for any inconveniences and look forward to seeing you in January,” the Syracuse theater said. “Thank you for your understanding.”

Additional tickets are on sale at thewestcotttheater.com. Prices are $40 in advance and $50 on the day of the show; VIP and meet-and-greet packages are also available.
