CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – Detours were put in place Saturday night until further notice on Route 29 in Campbell County because of a propane truck fire, according to VDOT.
The truck fire is near Route 1602 (Hyland Drive).
VDOT says the fire was reported Saturday evening and was still burning as of 7 a.m. Sunday. Fire crews are letting the fire burn itself out with “no way to know how long it will take.”

All northbound and southbound lanes of US-29 are closed.
Northbound traffic is being diverted onto Colonial Highway (Route 24).
Southbound traffic is being diverted onto Lawyers Road (Route 683).
Significant delays are expected—please avoid the area if possible.
Campbell County Department of Public Safety and local fire crews are on scene. Campbell County officials say fire crews are closely monitoring the situation to ensure public safety.
