[Originally published 6/10/25; Updated 7/17/25, 12/8/25, 12/14/25]: After wrapping up the first leg of his acclaimed Who Is The Sky? tour in Miami over the weekend, David Byrne has announced the expansion of the massive global outing with 20+ new dates in North America and Europe in the spring and summer of 2026. The new dates extend the tour’s overall run to a total of more than 110 shows [get tickets].
Byrne and his 12-piece backing ensemble will begin 2026 with a previously announced tour of Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and the U.K. in January, February, and March. Following the former Talking Heads frontman’s two-night headlining appearance at Knoxville, TN’s Big Ears Festival, he’ll open the newly announced North American run with two-night stints at Vancouver, BC’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre (4/4, 4/5) and Portland, OR’s Keller Auditorium (4/7, 4/8) en route to weekend one of Coachella (4/11). The new dates also include some exciting midweek plans for Byrne between Coachella weekends: a Tuesday, April 14th show at Santa Barbara, CA’s Santa Barbara Bowl and a Thursday, April 16th gig at Stanford, CA’s Frost Amphitheater.
Following his weekend two performance at Coachella (4/18), Byrne will bring the Who Is The Sky? tour to a long list of new destinations including Las Vegas, NV (4/20), Phoenix, AZ (4/21), Houston, TX (4/24), St. Louis, MO (4/28, 4/29), Indianapolis, IN (5/1, 5/2), Milwaukee, WI (5/3), Kansas City, MO (5/5), Cleveland, OH (5/7), Nashville, TN (5/9), Durham, NC (5/11, 5/12), Bridgeport, CT (5/15), and Baltimore, MD (5/16).
Tickets to the new David Byrne Who Is The Sky? tour dates are now on sale here. The tour will also offer a variety of different VIP packages and experiences including premium tickets, tours of the stage, onstage photo ops, signed copies of David Byrne’s photo book, early entry, and more. VIP package contents vary based on the offer selected. For more information on VIP packages for David Byrne’s Who Is The Sky? tour, head here.
The announcement of the new batch of 2026 dates comes at the tail end of David Byrne’s busiest year since the end of his American Utopia era. In addition to racking up rave reviews for the tour’s stark, powerful production and socially conscious themes, Byrne recently released a new single, “T-Shirt“, the innocently philosophical Brian Eno collab that has become one of the most talked-about segments from the Who Is The Sky? live show. He also crammed “everybody” from his notably kinetic backing band behind NPR‘s Tiny Desk for a four-song concert featuring a pair of songs from the new album in addition to Talking Heads cuts “Life During Wartime” and “(Nothing But) Flowers”. [6/10/25]: After leaving a trail of hints, David Byrne has officially announced his latest album, Who Is The Sky?, along with more than 70 tour dates around North America, Australia and New Zealand, and Europe and the U.K. throughout the end of 2025 and beginning of 2026 [get tickets].
The tour reveal came along with Tuesday’s official announcement of the Kid Harpoon-produced, Ghost Train Orchestra-arranged Who Is The Sky?, Byrne’s first new album since 2018’s acclaimed and award-winning American Utopia, due out via Matador Records on September 5th. Read more about the album here, and scroll down to watch the video for its first single, “Everybody Laughs”.
“I will start rehearsing soon for a tour that begins in September,” Byrne wrote on Facebook. “The tour concept is unlike anything I’ve done before. We’ll keep the mobility that was a key element of the American Utopia tour and Broadway show— but instead of the chain… we will have locations. You’ll just have to come and experience what that involves. Tour tickets go on sale 6/13 [here].”

A six-show Australia and New Zealand leg is set for January of 2026, while a 19-date, month-plus trek through Europe and the U.K. will keep David Byrne across the pond from mid-February through mid-March of 2026.
Highlight stops on the 2025 North American leg of the upcoming David Byrne tour include Washington, D.C.’s The Anthem (9/27, 9/28), New York, NY’s Radio City Music Hall (9/30, 10/1, 10/10), Boston, MA’s Wang Theatre (10/3, 10/4), Philadelphia, PA’s The Met Philadelphia presented by Highmark (10/16, 10/17), Denver, CO’s Bellco Theatre (11/6, 11/7), San Francisco, CA’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium (11/16, 11/17), Los Angeles, CA’s Dolby Theatre (11/20, 11/21), and Atlanta, GA’s Fox Theatre (12/2, 12/3).
