West Ham United defender Nayef Aguerd will wear a new squad number in 2025/26.

The Morocco international will switch to the No5 shirt, having previously worn No27 since joining the Hammers from Stade Rennais in June 2022.

Previous occupants of the No5 during the Premier League era include Anton Ferdinand, James Tomkins and Pablo Zabaleta, while Vladimír Coufal – who left the Club at the end of last month – wore it most recently, between 2020 and 2025.

Aguerd joins teammates Maximilian Kilman, Ollie Scarles and Freddie Potts in choosing a new number for the fresh campaign, and he will be hoping to play a key role back in east London after making 36 appearances on loan at Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad in 2024/25.
