Garmin has released a new update for an older Forerunner smartwatch. Software version 11.03 is another minor update for the wearable, tackling an issue linked to one type of notification. According to a post in the Garmin forum, it is rolling out in phases to the Forerunner 55 and can be downloaded in one of two ways.
The Garmin Forerunner 55 smartwatch is now receiving software version 11.03. It has arrived just a few weeks after the stable version 11.02 update, which resolved an issue with the language selection tool.
Now, the version 11.03 release fixes another problem experienced by Forerunner 55 smartwatch users. A bug which could cause repeated update prompts to appear is said to have been resolved. Some users reported as many as ten notifications each day.
Another recent fix was for a connectivity issue. In the Garmin Forum, several Forerunner 55 users had reported that the Connect IQ app could not detect their smartwatch. This was despite the wearable showing as connected in the Garmin Connect app. A representative for the company has since stated that this issue has been resolved, though the fix is not listed in the software version 11.03 release notes.
This stable update is currently available for 20% of users of this wearable. As usual, customers will be able to install the update through Garmin Express or Garmin Connect Mobile. The company has yet to announce when software version 11.03 will be available for all users of the Forerunner 55 smartwatch (curr. $169 at Amazon).
