Plaqueboymax got the rare chance to beat ex-WNBA player Liz Cambrige in a one-on-one match and received a prize of getting her to agree to a date.
Over the weekend, the streamer beat the former Las Vegas Aces star in a game just three years after Cambridge exited the WNBA. Plaqueboy won in a rematch after the four-time All-Star scored 16–14 in the first round, closing out the match with 21–20.
Clips from the game show Cambridge towering over Max, who was nearly exasperated at keeping up with the athlete.
“Can’t wait to take you on a date, I’m not gonna lie,” Max told Cambridge during a quick break.
By the game’s end, Cambridge jokingly accused Max of “cheating the whole time” but was hugged up with the streamer in a picture taken in the gym. “We both one,” Cambridge wrote in her Instagram Story.
In Complex’s Instagram post recapping the game, Cambridge still couldn’t believe that she lost and commented with multiple eye roll emojis. Along with going on a date with Max, the former basketball star will also have to get a tattoo of his choosing.
Max has been winning at more than basketball this year, as he also scored his first Grammy nomination for his “Victory Lap” featuring Fred again.. and Skepta in the category of Best Dance/Electronic Recording. With the streamer and producer up against Kaytranada, Tame Impala, Skrillex and more in the category, we’ll see who goes home with the award when the 68th Annual Grammy Awards air on Sunday, February 1.
