Ty Simpson has taken some tough hits the past few weeks. Such is life in the SEC as a quarterback.

Auburn and Georgia pressured Simpson for much of each game. He hasn’t missed any time, though.

On Monday, Simpson was asked about his health ahead of the College Football Playoff.

“I’m great,” Simpson said. “I’m excited. It’s a great opportunity to play in the College Football Playoff. At this point in the season, I don’t know a team who is healthy at all, so fire me up. I’m ready to go.”

Alabama will face Oklahoma on Friday, December 19 (7 p.m. CT, ABC/ESPN) in Norman, Oklahoma in the first round of the 12-team playoff. If the Crimson Tide wins that game, it will advance to the Rose Bowl to face No. 1 seed Indiana.

Simpson and the offense will look to bounce back from their worst performance of the season. The Crimson Tide only scored one touchdown.

After the game, Simpson was also asked how healthy he is.

“Everybody is getting hit,” Simpson said. “Everybody is sore in some type of way.”

This season, Simpson has completed 275 of 428 passes (64.3%) for 3,268 yards, 26 touchdowns and five interceptions. This season, he has also rushed for two scores.
