Key Stories to Watch

The Avs face Seattle for the first time, and will face last year’s trade deadline acquisition Ryan Lindgren in the process. Colorado reportedly tried to keep Lindgren but couldn’t reach a new deal. He signed a four-year contract with the Kraken on July 1.
Mackenzie Blackwood gets the nod in goal. Blackwood is 9-1-1 with a .920 save percentage. He’s expected to play opposite Kraken netminder Philipp Grubauer, who has started 10 of 30 Seattle games this season.
Given how lines looked on Monday, the Avs are expected to put Martin Necas back on the top line after swapping spots with Gavin Brindley for a game.
Seattle is 2-7-1 in its last 10 games and has the fewest goals in the NHL (74).
