YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK — Last week, Yellowstone Forever, the official nonprofit partner of Yellowstone National Park (YNP) shared a video of a lone wolf trotting through the Upper Geyser Basin on its social media channels.
The video came from the Old Faithful livestream webcam. The camera follows the wolf as it jaunts through the geyser basin and crosses a few boardwalks and patches of snow. Steam from hot pools rises as the wolf wanders through. According to a YNP post from April 2024, volunteers around the country remotely control the Old Faithful webcam to monitor eruptions and view wildlife in the basin.
The livestream webcam of Upper Geyser Basin is supported through a grant from Canon USA, Inc. to Yellowstone Forever. YNP also has nine static webcams that refresh approximately every 30 seconds. All of the webcams as well as geyser eruption predictions can be viewed here.
