Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has been making the headlines for the wrong reasons of late, despite the Blues stringing together back-to-back wins.

The Italian went on a bizarre rant after victory against Everton, with reports later hinting that Maresca is in a feud with some Chelsea chiefs.

Chelsea fans showed their backing of Maresca after the win against Cardiff, however the Italian has been left hoping that the positive results and performances since he joined the club will see him be given suitable time in charge.

Chelsea cult hero Salomon Kalou believes the Blues need to hire from within England if they are to make the switch, and told Sportzine he would be a fan of Frank Lampard, Andoni Iraola and Regis Le Bris as the new Blues boss.

He said: “It’s important to say Maresca has done a lot of good work at Chelsea, and the club will want stability. But if results don’t improve, naturally speculation will grow.

“My former team-mate Frank Lampard is one name that stands out for me. He’s doing amazingly at Coventry right now, showing he’s learned from his previous experiences. He knows Chelsea inside out, he’s a club legend, and with more maturity and tactical growth, he could do well if given another chance.

“Andoni Iraola is another coach who has impressed in the Premier League with his intensity and pressing style. He’s shown he can adapt quickly and get the best out of his players.

“Then there’s Régis Le Bris. He built his reputation at Lorient by developing young talent and playing progressive football, and now at Sunderland, he’s showing he can translate those ideas into a different environment. That combination of nurturing players and tactical innovation makes him an intriguing option for a club like Chelsea.”

The Blues have four managers on their list, with Iraola one of those they have already been impressed by.

Cesc Fabregas, Oliver Glasner and Liam Rosenior have also already been considered should a change be needed.

While Lampard would arguably be the most popular pick, it remains to be seen if Chelsea would take the risk on giving him his third stint in charge of the club.
