The Los Angeles Dodgers captured their second straight World Series title in thrilling fashion, beating the Toronto Blue Jays in extra innings of Game 7. Each Dodgers player earned $484,748 for the 2025 playoff run, the league revealed Thursday.

The total postseason bonus pool was $128.2 million, a tick below last year’s record $129.1 million, which topped the previous high-water mark in 2023 by 20%. The Dodgers’ allotment was $46.15 million, or 36% of the total, as defined by the collective bargaining agreement. From that, the team awarded 82 full shares, 12.5 partial shares and cash awards worth $340,000.

A full share was worth slightly more than last year’s $477,441, when the club handed out 96.5 full or partial shares. The MLB record was $516,347 in 2022 when the Houston Astros had 59 full shares.

The Blue Jays received 24% of the playoff bonus pool, or $30.76 million. Toronto issued 70 full shares and 15.44 partial shares. A full share was worth $354,118.

The bonus pool is comprised of 60% of gate receipts from the minimum number of games in each series (two games in the Wild Card round, three in the Division Series, and four each in the League Championship Series and World Series). Teams can allocate their share of the pool as they see fit.

The 2024 pool was a record, with the Dodgers and New York Yankees reaching the World Series, where ticket prices soared. This year’s Fall Classic was also destined to juice the postseason pot. The Dodgers generate the most per-game ticket revenue in the sport, thanks to having the only MLB stadium with a capacity of 50,000 or more, and ticket prices that are neck-and-neck with the Yankees for the highest in baseball. The Blue Jays are also a top-10 team for gate after their recent $300 million renovation of Rogers Centre.

Full shares for other 2025 MLB playoff teams were $182,376 (Seattle Mariners), $168,853 (Milwaukee Brewers), $52,044 (Philadelphia Phillies), $48,741 (Chicago Cubs), $47,318 (Yankees), $46,865 (Detroit Tigers), $11,528 (Cincinnati Reds), $11,057 (Cleveland Guardians), $10,711 (San Diego Padres) and $9,347 (Boston Red Sox).

The payouts don’t move the needle for MLB’s highest-paid players, with this year’s top 15 earning a combined $745 million from salaries and endorsements. Yet, it is a major boost for the large number of players making the minimum MLB salary, which was $760,000 in 2025.

Baseball’s championship payouts slot in behind the NBA on a per-player basis among the four biggest North American leagues. NBA playoff teams split $34.7 million this year, with each Oklahoma City Thunder player making $828,000 for winning the title. Philadelphia Eagles players earned $357,000 for last season’s Super Bowl run. In the NHL, the 2025 playoff pool was $23 million and roughly $250,000 per player for the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.
