Greg Biffle, wife, and children die in plane crash at Statesville Regional Airport, NASCAR family and Rep. Richard Hudson confirm

Ferguson, our airport director. Thank you. Good morning. Like we said, approximately 10:15 a.m. we got *** report of *** corporate jet that crashed off the end of the runway on the east end. When actually I came out, it was already fully involved. We’ve had multiple agencies, as you said, come. The FAA arrived about 12 o’clock today. They’re taking over the scene. They’re taking over the investigation. We have no information on any cause. The airport now is closed until further notice. It will take some time to get the debris off the runway to get it safe again. At this time, I still don’t have any other information than what we’ve already said. I’ll turn this over to, oh, you go ahead, you do it. Um, again, we’ll provide updates as soon as we have them, uh, it’ll either be us or other agencies and if you have direct questions that you want answered, you can email those to me and we will try to get these back to you as soon as possible. Again, my name is April Nesbitt. It’s *** N E S B I T at statesville NC.net. Thank you all. No, no number of people on the plane or anything, you know, and it happened during landing.
