RALEIGH, N.C. (WRAL) – State health leaders are issuing a warning after they say someone with measles traveled through a Raleigh-Durham International Airport terminal while infected last week.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services says the person arrived at terminal two early in the morning on December 10.
Health officials say anyone who was in the terminal from 4 to 8 a.m. that day may have been exposed to measles and should monitor for measles-like symptoms until January 1.
WRAL reports that DHHS says the traveler is from out of state and there are no known health risks at the airport.
Public health leaders are recommending all unvaccinated individuals who are a year old and up get the measles vaccine to protect themselves and others.
If you have any questions, the state encourages you to contact your local health department.
