The first round of the College Football Playoff got underway Friday night. Alabama and Oklahoma started the weekend with a matchup in Norman.

The Crimson Tide made it in the CFP field as the No. 9 seed, setting the stage for a rematch against the Sooners. The two teams previously squared off at Bryant-Denny Stadium – an OU victory to hand Alabama its second loss of the season.

On 4th and 2, Alabama decided to go for it, and the decision paid off. Lotzeir Brooks caught the short pass from Ty Simpson and forced his way to the end zone, giving the Crimson Tide their first points of the game to cut the Oklahoma lead to 17-7.
