NEW YORK (PIX11) – There will be no trash, curbside composting, or recycling collection on Thursday, according to the New York City Department of Sanitation.
DSNY will not be collecting this upcoming Thursday, as it is Christmas.
Residents who typically have their trash, curbside composting, and recycling collected on Thursday should place their materials out for pickup on Thursday evening, the agency recommends.
“The New York City Department of Sanitation announced that in observance of Christmas Day, there will be NO trash, Curbside Composting, nor recycling collection on Thursday, December 25, 2025.”
Collection will resume on Friday, DSNY wrote on its X account.
DSNY also reminded New Yorkers that delays may occur after holidays and asked for patience as it works to collect the backlog of material.
