Henrietta, N.Y. — A water main break has forced the temporary closure of the South Town Plaza.

The private water main that surrounds the building and “supplies both domestic and fire prevention water services” has been shut off by the Monroe County Water Authority “due to the lack of portable water and fire prevention capability,” according to Henrietta Town Supervisor Stephen Schultz.

“The safety risk was too high to allow any occupancy, especially for the general public,” Schultz said in a statement.

There’s no timeline yet on when the plaza will reopen as crews continue to make repairs.
