WARM DAYS AHEAD: Afternoon highs will reach or exceed 70 degrees across Alabama daily through the rest of the week. A few spotty showers are possible over the northern counties tomorrow and Wednesday, but most communities will stay dry.

Christmas Day looks warm and dry. After starting the day in the 50s, temperatures rise into the 70s, not far from record levels for December 25.

Highs remain in the 70s Friday and Saturday, Then, on Sunday, a cold front will move quickly through the state with a chance of showers, followed by much colder air early next week.

By Monday and Tuesday (December 29-30) temperatures could hold in the 30s across the Tennessee Valley, with 40s for the rest of the state. A freeze is likely statewide by Tuesday morning.
