The Butler County coroner has identified the three people who died in a multi-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Hamilton. It happened around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of River Road and Hooven Avenue.Three different vehicles were reported to be involved in the crash, with three different people killed.Tuesday, the coroner identified those who died as Milton Alvarez Lagos, 35; Bety Salazar Lopez, 27; and Milton Salazar Alvarez, 10.According to a crash report released by the Ohio Department of Public Safety, the crash happened when a 2008 Pontiac Torrent traveling southbound on River Road passed left of center over the street’s median. This caused the SUV to hit the far curb and proceed to collide head-on with a 2008 Honda Civic that was traveling northbound.Officials say that after the initial impact, the Civic proceeded to hit a detached garage and a fence on two nearby properties.Meanwhile, the crash report indicates that the Torrent continued to “rotate” down the road after the impact, hitting a 2002 Ford F-150 that was also headed northbound on River Road.Authorities say the speedometer of the Torrent was found to be stuck at 80 mph after the crash.As a result of the incident, River Road was temporarily closed between Laurel Avenue and Hayes Avenue near the scene of the crash for much of Sunday.The Butler County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team assisted Hamilton police at the scene immediately afterward.
