Slowly but surely the Duquesne Dukes men’s basketball non-conference schedule is starting to trickle out.
Like with the Pitt Panthers, head coach Dru Joyce and Duquesne are putting together an attractive non-conference slate.
The latest game we’ve learned about is with Loyola (Maryland), which will take place on November 19 at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh.
Loyola (MD), which are members of the Patriot League, had a down year last season with an overall record of 12-19.
Prior to this game, Pittsburgh Sports Now has reported on Duquesne non-conference games this season with Steve Alford and Nevada on December 13 and Boise State.
Back in May, college basketball writer Rocco Miller reported that Duquesne will be competing in a four-team MTE along with Villanova, Queens and Sacred Heart. Villanova will host all three of the teams, while Duquesne will host Queens and Sacred Heart.
This event will take place in “early to mid-November,” per Miller.
The Dukes return several players from last year’s squad, including Jakub Necas, Jake DiMichele, David Dixon, Maximus Edwards, Alex Williams, Cam Crawford. Duquesne has also brought in UT Martin transfer Tarence Guinyard, College of Charleston transfer Stef Van Bussel, Xavier transfer John Hugley, as well as former South Florida guard Jimmie Williams out of the transfer portal this spring.
