Will Arnett is clapping back at all the “f–king hilarious” rumors about his dynamic with his ex-wife Amy Poehler, explaining that the former spouses are actually good friends.

In an interview with Rolling Stone published Wednesday, the actor, 55, revealed that he came up with the concept of having a surprise guest on his “SmartLess” podcast without telling the other two hosts, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes.

But in April, Bateman and Hayes surprised Arnett by having Poehler, 54, as their guest.

“Yeah, that was a great one,” he gushed about the episode. “I mean, Amy texted Sean and me this morning saying, ‘We all got nominated for Golden Globes, let’s party.’ And then she said, ‘I don’t have Bateman’s number, that’s probably for the best.’ That was the text.”

In fact, his only qualm about the episode was that their children — Archie, 17, and Abel, 15 — kept the secret from him.

“One of the more alarming parts about her coming on our podcast was that my sons lied to me. That’s the part that unnerved me,” he said before specifying that they “omitted the truth.”

But in April, Bateman and Hayes surprised Arnett by having Poehler as their guest.

“Yeah, that was a great one,” he gushed about the episode, noting that Poehler had even sent him and Hayes a funny text that morning.

However, when Abel apologized for knowing and not telling his dad, an understanding Arnett responded, “It’s OK, dude.”

When asked whether Poehler’s appearance on the show “cleared up a lot of speculation about [their] relationship,” Arnett replied, “People think that they know. Over the years, I’ve read so many opinions people have. It’s f–king hilarious to me how much s–t is just made up, and they have zero idea. It’s like, ‘Oh, you think you know what my life is?’”

The “Arrested Development” star went on to detail his complex relationship with the concept of fame.

“Look, yes, it’s part of celebrity culture that we all participate in. And by the way, [celebrity] has been good to me. So I don’t want to s–t on it,” he made sure to note, adding that he still “struggle[s] with it.”

He elaborated, “You gotta be careful. The universe will be like, ‘Great, you don’t want it? We’ll take it away.’ Fame is just a weird thing.”

Arnett acknowledged that he’s “not the most famous dude in the world by any stretch” and argued that people don’t “really care that much” about what’s going on in his personal life.

While he never sought fame in his pursuit of becoming an actor, he knows the two go hand in hand.

Arnett and Poehler were married from August 2003 to July 2016.
