A massive offensive line rebuild is underway at the Joe Craft Football Training Facility. Kentucky lost five offensive line starters off last year’s team as that entire group is beginning their pro football journey. UK’s starting tackles will be at one of the top NFL Draft showcase events next month.
Shiyazh Pete and Alex Wollschlaeger have both received invites to the Hula Bowl. The 80th edition of this college football all-star game will be played January 10, 2026 in DeLand, Florida. Kickoff is at noon ET at Spec Martin Memorial Stadium. Scouts from the NFL will be down in the Sunshine State for the entire week of practice as organizations start to get their draft boards finalized. Both Kentucky products will be looking to make a splash and cement their status as a draftable prospect.
Shiyazh Pete was a New Mexico State transfer who started all 13 games for Kentucky at left tackle. Pete was Kentucky’s final addition in last year’s winter transfer portal. The plug-and-play starter helped secure a pivotal position for Kentucky’s brand new offensive line in 2025.
Alex Wollschlaeger is a Chicagoland native who spent five seasons at Bowling Green before transferring to Kentucky for his final season on college football. The four-year starter and All-MAC performer started every game for Kentucky at right tackle and was one of the top performers on the offensive line throughout the season.
Both players are experienced starters who will be looking to improve their draft stock next month.
