The Washington state Department of Health has accused a home care aide and registered nursing assistant of stealing checks and other financial information from two patients at a retirement care facility in Thursdon County last year.

Liana Marie Mozee allegedly stole two binders containing cashed checks, deposit receipts and other financial information from a retirement community on or about July 8, 2024, according to a statement of charges filed by the DOH on Dec. 1 accusing Mozee of unprofessional conduct.

Mozee allegedly removed two checks that were made out to the facility, replaced the facility’s name with her own on one of the checks and deposited it into her own bank account.

Mozee has an opportunity to defend against the allegations before the DOH takes disciplinary action.

The case documents can be accessed via the state Department of Health’s online provider credential search at https://fortress.wa.gov/doh/providercredentialsearch/. Mozee’s credential numbers are HM61478680 and NA61359268.

She first obtained her registered nursing assistant license in 2022 and first obtained her home care aide license in April 2024.

Both of Mozee’s credentials expired in August 2025 and have not been renewed, according to DOH records.
