Goalkeeper Nick Pope has a “chance” of returning for Newcastle United against Manchester United today, following a month out through injury.

Aaron Ramsdale has deputised during his fellow England international’s absence, but Eddie Howe is hopeful Pope will train ahead of the trip to Manchester United following a groin problem.

Tino Livramento, meanwhile, may return sooner than expected — albeit early in 2026, so he will miss the festive fixtures.

Sven Botman could return against Manchester United, Burnley next Tuesday or against Crystal Palace early in the new year having recovered from a back injury.

Joelinton has not featured since the 2-2 draw at Bayer Leverkusen earlier this month, but has a chance of being involved today.
