Fellow “Big Brother” contestants paid tribute to Lee following the news of her death.
WASHINGTON — “Big Brother” alum Mickey Lee, who competed in the CBS reality series last summer, has died. She was 35.Â
Lee’s family confirmed her death in an Instagram post shared on Friday, revealing the reality TV star died on Christmas Day. Her family said she had been hospitalized and was in “critical condition” after suffering a series of “cardiac arrests.”
“With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her transition on Christmas in the early evening,” the family said in a statement shared on Instagram. “Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike.”Â
“She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off the screen,” the statement continued. “The family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Your kindness has been felt and is sincerely appreciated.”Â


“As the family mourns this tremendous loss, they respectfully request privacy during this critical time of bereavement,” the family said. “Details regarding memorial services and arrangements will be shared at a later date. Mickey’s light, legacy, and impact will never be forgotten.”Â
Lee’s family set up an online fundraiser on behalf of the reality TV star days before her death. The family said Lee was in the ICU in critical, but stable condition.Â
The “Big Brother” alum was from Jacksonville, Florida, but resided in Atlanta, Georgia. She starred in Season 27 of the CBS competition series and made it to day 59 before being evicted.Â

“We are beyond saddened by the news,” Rachel Reilly wrote in an Instagram story. “Thank you for bringing your light to the world. You will be missed. This doesn’t feel real. heartbroken that you’re gone. You’ll always have a place in my heart.”
“Big Brother” legend Danielle Reyes also paid tribute to Lee on X.Â
“My heart goes out to the BB family on the loss of Mickey, especially during Christmas,” Reyes said. ‘While I didn’t know her personally, it’s clear she was deeply loved. Sending condolences, strength, and love to her family and all who are grieving.”
