PADUCAH — The Paducah Police Department reported responding to a local hospital for reports of an assault where they met with a victim who claimed she had been assaulted at a residence in the 900 block of North 10th Street, leading to a search warrant being conducted at the scene.

According to the PPD, after questioning the victim at a local hospital, police learned that she had suffered an assault on Dec. 26, where she was beaten, stabbed, and strangled by Christopher J. Williams, 35, of Paducah, who police determined she was in an intimate relationship with. The victim was able to flee the residence on the 900 block of North 10th Street the following morning and reach a hospital, where she contacted 911.

Following questioning, PPD said detectives and the Paducah Police SWAT team conducted a search warrant on the residence, discovering that Williams had already fled.
