If you’re reading this, you probably want to know: Will there be an Emily in Paris season 6? And if so, how much longer will we have to wait for it?
For some of us, binge-watching Emily in Paris each December has become a holiday tradition, up there with decorating the tree and avoiding family members’ invasive questions. (Well, season 4 technically premiered in August and September, but most seasons have had a late December release.) If that’s you, and you’ve already made your way through all 10 episodes of season 5 of the Netflix rom-com series, which dropped on December 18, keep reading for everything we know about a potential sixth season.
What has creator Darren Star said about a sixth season?
A sixth season is not officially confirmed…yet. When Glamour asked show creator Darren Star whether he’d already begun brainstorming ideas for season 6, he said, “I don’t really like to brainstorm until I get the real green light.” However, he added that the Emily in Paris characters “live in my head, so I can’t help thinking about them.” In other words, the fate of a sixth season is in the hands of Netflix’s higher-ups for now.
What would the plot of potential season 6 cover?
Strap in, because there are a lot of loose ends Emily in Paris writers need to tie up if the show gets a sixth season.
**Spoilers Ahead! ** When we left Emily (Lily Collins) at the end of season 5, she was newly single and bracing for a regime change at Agence Grateau. After Sylvie’s (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) now ex-husband, Laurent (Arnaud Binard), bankrupted her business, Princess Jane (Minnie Driver) stepped in to bail out the PR firm—with the caveat that she would be the co-CEO, much to Sylvie’s chagrin.

Lily Collins as Emily, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie Grateau, Bruno Gouery as Luc, Samuel Arnold as Julien.
