A man accused of fatally shooting his mother and injuring his father in Greene County Friday night has been taken into custody, according to police. When officials arrived on the scene, they said a man and a woman were found suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to a hospital in West Virginia for treatment, where the woman later died. The man, identified as the woman’s husband, was treated and later released. West Virginia police said Saturday that more information on how Noll was taken into custody will be released by the Pennsylvania State Police, who are handling the investigation. West Virginia police confirmed to Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that Jared Noll, 18, was taken into custody Saturday evening.

Pennsylvania State officials in Waynesburg said they were called to the area of Garrison Ridge Road in New Freeport around 2 p.m. Friday following reports of a shooting.

When officials arrived on the scene, they said a man and a woman were found suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to a hospital in West Virginia for treatment, where the woman later died.
