WNBA star Skylar Diggins has labelled herself as ‘God’s strongest soldier’ amid her ongoing divorce with husband Daniel Smith.

Diggins, a guard for the Seattle Storm, and Smith, a former Notre Dame football player, got married back in April 2017 before welcoming two children together.

However, back in March, reports broke that Diggins had filed for divorce from Smith, with further claims that the couple had split off in November the year prior.

Around that time, Diggins had dropped hints that the couple had called it quits after asking media members to address her as ‘Diggins’ rather than ‘Diggins-Smith’.

Now, the Storm guard has come out and addressed the situation head on, labelling herself as ‘God’s strongest soldier’ amid her ongoing legal battles.

Taking to Instagram, Diggins said: ‘Been doing everything BY MYSLF (sic) for over a year now. Just me and my babies (and the help of my mom/dad.) THAT’S IT!’

‘Working, paying the bills, being a present mother and battling through a lot of unknowns… God’s strongest soldier 2025.’

It’s proved to be a difficult year for Diggins, who was previously ripped into by WNBA fans for a ‘cheap shot’ she took at superstar Caitlin Clark.

Diggins, an Olympic gold medalist and six-time WNBA all-star, was caught needlessly bumping into Clark at the end of a game between the Storm and the Indiana Fever.

Clark was hyping up the Fever fans after the buzzer when Diggins appeared to speed up her walk to purposely crash into her opponent.

Unfazed, Clark kept walking and celebrating with the victorious home fans.

Diggins was slammed on social media, with fans accusing her of being jealous of Clark and bitter about her success.
