On Wednesday, No. 2 seed Ohio State faces No. 10 seed Miami in a College Football Playoff quarterfinal matchup at the Cotton Bowl. The winner of the showdown between Ryan Day’s Buckeyes and Mario Cristobal’s Hurricanes will advance to face either Georgia or Ole Miss in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 8.

The Prediction
Jeremiah Smith said Monday that, had Miami been in a better place coming off its 2023 season, he likely would have committed to the Hurricanes.
“I’d probably end up going to Miami if things was on the right track then and there, but I chose to stick with Ohio State,” Smith said.
We’re glad he did.
In 28 appearances for the Buckeyes, Smith has hauled in 156 catches for 2,401 receiving yards and 28 total touchdowns. His 29th appearance will come against his hometown team, as the South Florida native looks to continue his unanimous All-American season with a big performance in Dallas.
