LSU coach Lane Kiffin isn’t feeling the love from his former supporters at Ole Miss, but that hasn’t changed his affinity for his old job.
Kiffin shared an Instagram message he received from an Ole Miss fan because he “ruined” their year, and he included his heartfelt response, saying, “I still love you.”
Kiffin jumped ship from the Rebels to take over the Tigers following the firing of Brian Kelly. Defensive coordinator Pete Golding was promoted to Ole Miss head coach, and he will lead the team in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal against Georgia on Thursday.
LSU suffered a 38-35 loss against Houston in the Kinder’s Texas Bowl to finish this season with a 7-6 record, but there’s optimism that Kiffin will be able to turn the program around.
With the Rebels’ CFP game drawing nearer, perhaps fans will be able to move on and allow Kiffin to focus on his new job.
