Juventus and AC Milan’s pursuit of one Manchester United-linked attacking talent could result in one of the two Serie A clubs trying to sign Ruben Amorim’s player instead.
Manchester United are expected to remain active in the summer transfer window amid the pre-season tour and during the new Premier League season in August.
The transfer window will close in September and Ruben Amorim has added Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon to his first-team squad this summer.
United have been tipped to pursue further signings for the 40-year-old Red Devils boss, with the Premier League club linked with both a midfielder and a striker.
However, the Red Devils are limited in their spending power amid their financial woes and United will also need to offload players from their books this summer.
United manager Amorim faces no easy challenge at Old Trafford after he took over from Erik ten Hag amid a turbulent 2024-25 Premier League campaign for the club.

Randal Kolo Muani has been linked with Manchester United in the past and the 26-year-old striker has again been subject to transfer interest from the Red Devils.
The Frenchman spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign out on loan at Juventus after he was allowed to leave Paris Saint-Germain back in January.
Randal Kolo Muani saw out his six-month loan spell at the Serie A club and his loan contract expired at the end of June and the French striker returned to PSG in July.
However, the United-linked forward is expected to play no further role under PSG manager Luis Enrique and is considered expendable at the Parc des Princes.
Juventus have been tipped to sign Kolo Muani on a permanent deal in the summer, but AC Milan could throw a spanner in the works with their interest in the PSG star.
Tutto Juve has cited a report from la Repubblica that Juventus-linked Kolo Muani has now emerged as a ‘surprise choice’ for Serie A outfit Milan in the summer window.
An AC Milan move for Randal Kolo Muani could leave Juventus to pursue Man Utd striker Rasmus Hojlund instead
According to la Repubblica (via Tutto Juve), it is believed that PSG are ‘asking’ for ‘€50million’ for Randal Kolo Muani and Newcastle are also ‘lurking’ over the player.
It is believed that the ‘formidable counterattack player’ would be the ideal fit for AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri, but the Italian club face an uphill battle.
The Italian newspaper claimed that Kolo Muani’s ‘priority’ is Juventus, but the Old Lady are ‘awaiting a move’ and could pursue a ‘potential lost alternative’ if needed.
It has been suggested that the Turin-based side could turn their attention to Liverpool attacker Darwin Nunez or Rasmus Hojlund if they don’t sign Kolo Muani.
