Take a look into some of the best homes that the central Pa. real estate market has to offer in the Harrisburg area.

Here is a sampling of some of the most interesting Cool Spaces captured by PennLive during 2025.

Each Wednesday Cool Spaces offers readers a sampling of high quality homes throughout the area. As the photos show, architecture and the places we call home are as varied as the people who live in them.

In the last year, homes in Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Perry and York counties were featured.

Cool Spaces even ventured a little outside central Pa., featuring some interesting properties, such as a $35 million equestrian estate near Pittsburgh, and the Warren-Hickox House, in Kankakee, Illinois, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

The homes varied greatly in price, from a $215K townhome in Harrisburg, to the previously mentioned $35M estate. The most expensive central Pa. home featured in Cool Spaces this year was a $3 million home in Penn Township, Lancaster County.

The year saw new homes, Second Empire, Tudor revival, farmhouse, modern farmhouse, contemporary, millennium mansion, ranch, midcentury modern, Victorian, custom builds, French country-style, 200-plus-year-old stone, townhomes, Georgian estate, and luxury estate homes.

PennLive’s Cool Spaces editor Dan Gleiter wishes to thank all of the homeowners and realtors who have taken the time and made the arrangements to have their homes photographed and featured.
