An investigation is underway into a bomb threat made to Temple Shalom, located along Utica Avenue in Port Charlotte.The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said that after evacuating the area and conducting sweeps both outside and inside the buildings, no device was found.Temple President Judy Migdol told Gulf Coast News the email had antisemitic remarks. “The email did say… they had a bomb outside the building. They were going to do damage to the building. Not that much damage to the building, but any that are nearby will be victims and will get hurt. And if we call the police, which they used a derogatory word for, also, it will be worse.” This comes just three months after police arrested a man for setting fire to the Chabad of Charlotte County in Punta Gorda. “They did catch that guy and what was his problem? He hated Jews,” Migdol said. “I mean, it was no secret he did it because he hated the Jewish people. Jewish people are good people. We’ve helped everybody and there’s just so much hatred out there. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said that after evacuating the area and conducting sweeps both outside and inside the buildings, no device was found.

Temple President Judy Migdol told Gulf Coast News the email had antisemitic remarks.
