Joe Jonas made a startling confession while reflecting on the media asking inappropriate questions on the red carpet.
The Jonas Brothers trio, Joe, Nick and Kevin were guests on Penn Badgley’s “Podcrushed” podcast this week, where they opened up about the wildly inappropriate questions they were asked at a young age.
In case you don’t remember, in the early 2000s, when the Jo Bros were on the rise, they were known for wearing purity rings. Joe revealed on the podcast that reporters would consistently ask questions about whether they are waiting until marriage for sex. Joe claimed that some even threatened to write that the brothers were ‘in a cult’ if they didn’t answer their question.
Nick chimed in and mentioned the shift he’s noticed with what’s acceptable for reporters to ask during interviews, “I think it’s a really good thing. Where 1753521128 it would be so outside of the realm of possibilities or something someone would do – to ask a 14-year-old about their sex life.”
Joe circled back to their purity ring conversation to add that it was “something in the community of [their] church where that was what everybody else was doing around 10, 11 years old.”
The DNCE frontman also notes that he and his brothers decided that they wanted to “wait for the right person,” but the media added a lot of stress to the whole situation. He adds, “It’s on the record And so you felt the pressure. I can definitely speak for the three of us here. I felt the pressure of being like, well, we have to live these lives because we kind of said it in a paper once. It’s in print, so you gotta do it forever.”
Each brother went on to marry and welcome children.
Kevin was the first to tie the knot to Danielle in 2009, and they have two daughters, Alena, 11, and Valentina, 8. Joe shares daughters Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, with ex-wife Sophie Turner. Nick is married to Priyanka Chopra, who welcomed their first child together in 2022, Malti, 3.
Obviously, things worked out for the Jonas Brothers, which we’re so happy to see!
