ANDREW COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) — The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) confirmed to KQ2 that a mountain lion was spotted near Business 71 and Miller Road Friday evening.

According to the MDC, a mountain lion was spotted in the area listed. The Country Club Village Police Department said on social media that the cat was struck by a vehicle around 5:20 pm on Jan. 2.

Conservation agents arrived in the area and successfully located the animal. 

Upon discovery, they noticed the mountain lion had suffered serious injuries. The MDC then chose to euthanize the Mountain Lion. 

The MDC confirmed that there is no known threat to the public at this time. Country Club PD also said in their statement that the Andrew County Sheriff’s Department assisted the MDC during this situation.Â
